Navigating the Early Days of COVID-19 in China

The COVID-19 pandemic hit Wuhan, China, just a week after I returned to the country. By then, I had secured a job in Shanghai but lived in Chongqing. Traveling during that time was challenging, with uncertainty looming everywhere.

My older brother, who lives in Shanghai, advised me to wait before making the move. He worried about the risks and the unpredictability of the situation, as no one could say when it would be safe again.

But something in me felt compelled to push forward. Against his suggestion, I decided to book a plane ticket to Shanghai.

This video was filmed in Shanghai, China, on March 7, 2020.

Looking back, it was a tricky decision, balancing caution with the need to start a new chapter. Sometimes, life throws curveballs, and we navigate them best. More reflections on those surreal early days of the pandemic to come!

Stay safe, stay curious! 🌍✈️
