In 2022, I boldly left my software developer position in Shanghai to begin my startup journey. Alongside my work on building an app, I also felt a calling to share my story, which led to the creation of my first ebook, How to Become a Software Developer Without a Computer Science Degree. It wasn’t about pride or shame—it was simply about sharing my journey to live authentically and be fully aware of my existence in this vast universe. We are all unique, and I felt compelled to write about the extraordinary experiences that have shaped my life, hoping they might resonate with you.

The first edition of How to Become a Software Developer Without a Computer Science Degree combined both my personal story and a coding tutorial. However, the version you’re reading now (the 2025 Edition) has taken a different approach, focusing solely on telling the story of my journey. By leaving out the technical tutorial, I’ve been able to concentrate on crafting a narrative that flows more smoothly and connects more deeply. This edition has also made essential refinements, such as correcting language errors and adding subtle details to enhance the storyline.

Compared to the first ebook, this version represents a significant improvement in both structure and storytelling. This chapter of my life is so important to me that I wanted to give it the attention and dedication it deserves in the form of a full, standalone book. I hope you find this updated version just as meaningful, if not more so, than the original.
